I don’t use Todoist properly. The tool is great and well thought out, but I miss the use cases. What distinguishes this tool from a calendar? I struggle so much. Are there any good tips so that I can manage my life better with a really good tool? // @todoist

@dominikhoecht Calendars are for events. Todoist is for.. well... things To Do. Tasks.

@maique maybe I'm using my calendar "wrong". It says every other week, for example: "New lenses!" Or every four weeks: "Hard drive backup!" And it works pretty good for me. I find it hard to part with this. And somehow I don't think I'm gonna mess up my calendar.

@dominikhoecht I don’t think there’s a “wrong” way. If it works for you, it’s perfect. I use both a calendar and Things, and I love it. But if you’re happy with your system, that’s great.

@maique My point is: Do I force myself to work with both systems? Does it make more sense to split that up? I don't know. Like I said, I like todoist. (I even have Premium... for some reason...) And I don't really use the app.

@dominikhoecht For me, it does make a lot of sense. I have a few clients, I have areas for each one, with tasks I have to do for each of them. I have lists of movies, or books. Supermarket list. Stuff we need for the baby. Ideas for future projects. Packing lists. Stuff to write about... i could go on. Some have dates on them, most do not. It would be hard for me to use a calendar for that.

@maique But lists, that's another point. I use Evernote for lists & notes. Uhm... maybe I use my Smartphone the wrong way.

@dominikhoecht Ahahahahaha. Again, if it works for you, no worries. Some things I did differently in the past, until they bothered me, and I thought “there must be a better way”. Or a new app shows up, and I try to figure out if that will help simplify things. Sometimes it does, others it doesn’t.

@maique I'm just such a little tech freak/douche bag. Everything new must be tried. I still know Evernote from years ago. Always was good, still is good. But here comes Notion. It's better somehow and yet also worse. Todoist for todos, ok, I need! That's why I simply paid once without thinking about it before. Trial & Error. Let's see if I can somehow use the wasted money for Todoist after all.
