@benwerd I was in a similar situation, wondering what I would want given that I have changed so much over the years. So I went with one embracing change itself. I’m considering my next one and - just to throw the thought out there - I wonder how necessary it is for tattoos to be meaningful. Not that there’s anything wrong with them being meaningful, of course. But I’m beginning to wonder if simply liking an artist’s design is reason enough.

@jabel @benwerd I have a few tattoos, and only a couple have a specific meaning. Most of them were just added to the collection because I liked the design, a few I had almost no input at all, the artist could do whatever he wanted, others to remember a particular trip or visit (I’m not counting those as having meaning or, at least, Meaning.

Everyone has their story, and I respect those who attach meaning to their tattoos but, for me, the act of getting tattooed at that time, with that artist, at that place, was the important bit.
