Another great idea! I will happily take part on the A Day In The Life of Our Online Community: A Global Photography Challenge.

Thank you, @macgenie, for another photography related challenge, looking forward to the community’s photos.

Less than a month to go.

@maique I have a large format book from a specific day in Hawaii in the 80s. A Day in the Life of Hawaii. World renowned photographers spread out on every island and took some amazing photos.

I love that book and look at frequently.

This will be fun. I

@hawaiiboy Sadly I wasn’t a world renowned photographer by then, I would have loved to take part of that one too.... 🤣😂

This will be fun, albeit probably less sunny and palm tree filled, but hopefully there’s a book at the end as well.. 😊

@maique I put my mind to coming up with something special

@maique A book is on my wish list. One of the reasons I want to promote a good turnout! 14 down, 86 to go!

@macgenie I know, I know, I was stoked to learn that it might end as a book. I was about to enroll, but remembered the mail you sent a while ago. Can you please confirm that I’m already on the list ? I’ll tweet and toot again, maybe someone will follow up on that.

@maique This sounds cool but these things are rarely interested in the day in the life of yet another white guy from the United States. 😕

@gregmoore I could say the same: who is interested in the day of a white guy from Portugal ? I, for one, I’m very interested in seeing a photo from everyone in the community, regardless of gender, country, or any other thing. And, as a long time fan (ok, I’ve said it) of your country, I find this a very challenging time to be American, and I’m looking forward to the photos.

As they used to say: Be There or Be Square!

@gregmoore @maique This is different because it’s personal. As individuals in a world of almost 8 billion! there's scope to learn about how others live. Your ordinary is someone else's extraordinary, after all.

@Miraz Sometimes I wish English was my first language, and I had your talent with words! That’s exactly what I wanted to say, but couldn’t. @gregmoore

@maique @miraz I don’t normally consider my everyday life to be interesting enough to be shared but I think that’s just my lack of confidence talking. You make good points about capturing a time and a place that will eventually be gone.

@gregmoore One thing I've come to appreciate about the Micro.blog community is that as individuals, our interests and circumstances are quite diverse, even if there is a preponderance of a certain demographic on paper, as it were.

@macgenie As a member of an overly-represented category, I’m trying to be sensitive to learning when I shouldn’t add my voice into places that need more diverse perspectives. Still, I’ve signed up to participate because of this conversation. 😊I appreciate the kindness and inclusivity of this community.

@maique I sometimes forget that English is not your first language! I never read anything that you write to suggest otherwise. 👏🏻

@crossingthethreshold Ahahahaha... Thank you, it means a lot. But I never forget, even more so on Micro.blog, where people seem to take extra care with the way they express themselves. Sometimes I want to make a point, can’t come up with a nicer way to phrase things, and a few minutes later the word I was looking for shows up and I’m left feeling a bit stupid. I would sound better in Portuguese ¯_(ツ)_/¯

@Miraz I agree with you, “Your ordinary is someone else's extraordinary.” We all have stories to tell from lives that we live, and without them the world would not be what it is. And I know that I have to remind myself of that, especially in a world where some voices are not heard. @maique @gregmoore @macgenie

@gregmoore That’s a great compliment to get! I’m trying my best not to make too many blunders, but occasionally I jumble the words or use imprecise language. 😅

@ohBananaJoe My native language is Norwegian; I’ll count English and Portuguese as second languages, and German as a third.

@helgeg @ohBananaJoe I would, obviously, say Portuguese as first. English as second, with Spanish throw in. French as second and a half. And I’ll understand Italian but wouldn’t dare to speak it 😳
