If you start reading a book and it’s not grabbing you, how long do you give it until you give up? Or do you always read through to the end once you start?

@MitchWagner I've heard that 100 pages minus one's age is a good benchmark. 🙂 20% is my minimum unless the author can't string a sentence together.

@cn I loved Moby Dick in college. Many people find it dry but not me.

@MitchWagner To be fair I am a pretty quick reader. I think bottom line is that it is fine to quit books that are not doing it for you. Read if you are learning something or if you enjoy it. No one is passing out awards for finishes. 😁

@MitchWagner It depends, I don’t have a formula for it. Until I can’t stand it anymore and figure some other book is worthy of my time.
