I have decided to actively be back on Twitter again. In a way, I never was off Twitter; I have been a passive contributor on Twitter for more than a year now. During that time, Micro.blog became the place that I was most active at. However, recently I have found that the platform just d... www.amitgawande.com

@amit Thanks for your thoughtful post. I still participate on Twitter, though much less than I used to, for similar reasons. I really enjoyed our podcast chat.

@macgenie Glad you took it in the right spirit 👍 I am sure am in the minority here with the challenges I listed.

@amit Timezone isn't an issue for me but I still feel discovery and diversity are lacking in a way that reduces my participation.

@amit I hear ya. I don’t have the same issue as you do re: time zone but can related re: diversity especially after Vasta left. I did notice you’ve been less active. Oh well...

@amit I have some of the same concerns as you, being in a slow traffic time zone, but I catch the American night owls in the morning and the Kiwi day-people in the night. And there’s a semi-strong European contingent here as well. However, I’d love for micro.blog to expand, (gradually and carefully), into new areas. I miss participation from Asia and Africa. I think its mainly because no one has ever heard of micro.blog there. Maybe also there has to be someone for there to be more?

@pratik Yeah, I just can't contribute to most conversations, especially in Discover tab; most are too local (in taste or culture) or political. I share interest for neither.

At least, the Discover section needs to be a lot more diverse that it currently is. Only way I feel is have a more diverse curation team.

@odd Yeah, I understand that it is a vicious circle. Also I think both the markets are a bit more price sensitive than the west.

@amit I would think so too, but there is always the “free” option, which means you have to pay for hosting somewhere else…ah, yes, I can see that it can be hard to justify. 😔
