The auto switching of the AirPods Pro is now working on mine and wow is it magical! Pick up device, connected and ready to play. Pick up another device, ready to play. πŸ‘πŸ‘

@Burk does this require iOS 14?

@CTD Yes, I think so. I believe this is a combo of iOS14 and the new Airpods firmware.

@Burk So picking it up activates the switch. I've been nervous about this, because I usually have two or sometimes three iOS devices I'm using, and I wasn't sure how the AirPods would know which one I wanted to connect to.

@macgenie I Don't have a good answer for this.. I have been using it today with my iPhone and iPad the majority of the day, with audio mainly coming from my phone. I noticed that although my iPad had the little headphone icon in the corner, it never interrupted my phone playback. Not 100% sure what it's doing to decide but I will chock it up to πŸ§™β€β™‚οΈπŸ§™β€β™€οΈ

@Burk do you have an Apple Watch? Have you tried music or anything on the watch to see how the AirPod switch is with it?

@kordumb I do! I have a series 5, I'll give it a go. Hadn't occured to me as I haven't been outside in ages! That has always been 50/50 for me in the past.. 🀞

@Burk yeah my series 5 to AirPod 2s has always been a struggle. Not sure if it’s the watch or AirPods. Was curious if new OS or Pros would solve it.

@macgenie another thing is I often hand a device to my child while still using the AirPods for work with another, and I’m not sure how that will work out. But worst case I’ll disable this feature.
