Got to pay attention to notice avocado flowers. Our “Bacon” Avocado tree is flowering. Our “Mexicola” variety is not— too bad because they’re type A and B so would have pollinated each other.

@kurite Does the Mexola ever flower? I’m curious about the type A, type B reference. I do understand that some plants have both sexes where others do not. Anyway I love seeing new buds on any plant; it’s such a miracle.

@poetalegre the Mexicola did flower a little when we first planted it last year. It struggled over the summer so that may explain lack of flowers this year. Or it gets too much shade. The “Bacon” is more established and seems more robust, planted two years ago.
