@garciabuxton What a great question! I've thought about this many times in terms of what I would like played at my funeral, which is a pretty close comparison, I guess? I always come up with "Ceremony”, by Joy Division (but the New Order recording of it, since that's the one I heard first and is still closest to me).
But depending on the mood I'm in in my last few minutes (I know! Heaven forbid!), it might also be:
Broadcast - “I Found the F”
Bruce Springsteen - “Born to Run”
Donovan - “Lord of the Reedy River”
Elizabeth Fraser & Jeff Buckley - “All Flowers In Time”
The Fall - “Prole Art Threat”
Led Zeppelin - “Immigrant Song"
My Bloody Valentine - “Off Your Face”
The Smiths - “The Headmaster Ritual”
Sonic Youth - "Teenage Riot"
U2 - “Wire”
(Yes, I have a file in Dropbox called “favorite best songs ever.txt” just for this purpose, but it's more meant for enjoying music while I'm still alive.)
It will probably still be "Ceremony”.
