Up to Signs and Portents in out Babylon 5 rewatch. I think I’m in the minority, but I think Michael O’Hare is phenomenal as Commander Sinclair in S1 and I’d love to see where they show would have gone if he had not had to leave the show.

@duckrowing we'd have not had one of the greatest twists in any story ever. Worked out perfectly I'd say.

@duckrowing That is an intriguing and idiosyncratic view on O’Hare’s acting, that’s for sure!

@kaa Yeah I won't disagree with that. It's shocking that a show airing in syndication in the 90's could both trust the audience would follow a serialized story and pay it off in ways that few modern prestige shows match. That said, Zathras explaining that three characters are "the one" feels like some literary tap dancing to spackle over some cracks in the narrative 😉 But I love it.

@MitchWagner I know it's not a popular opinion. I think a lot of the problem with his performance is he's a theatre actor trying to do TV and sometimes it doesn't work, but I don't think the guy gets enough credit for how he plays Sinclair as haunted, which made him one of the more interesting characters on the show.

@duckrowing yeah I hear you there, but it has to be one of the best payoffs in a television series as it took years to all come together and had a ton of layers and characters built onto it to lead to that moment.
