@kaa When I did the Big Nerd Ranch iOS boot camp, I created the barebones for a habit app that only let you focus on one habit at a time. If it takes 21 days to form one (in dispute, but whatever), you could have established 17 habits in a year, rather than try to do 5 at one time, failing, giving up tracking.
Someday I will build that app. I must—because I already have the domain habitfocus.app 😅.
@kaa Sometimes the simplest way is the best, certainly the most visually obvious. I might steal this.
@cm sounds like the perfect thing to track. Also by putting it as a small piece of paper you can glue it into the journal at the end of the year :)
@kaa It makes me a little wistful. A friend gave me a Daruma doll which helped me establish one habit and inspire the app idea. You can only use it for one goal. I tried to hack a way to use it for more, which may have undermined the first habit. I never got back on track.
But I just checked. There are 95 days left in 2020. Enough for four 21-day streaks. Up first: daily walk. Thus far this year, I’ve only established bad habits, and you don’t need an app for that!
@kaa Pretty much the same as you. I've got something I keep putting off so need to hold myself accountable.
@colinwalker I like the psychology of a small sheet of paper that shows me the one thing I want to do more of across an entire year.
