@petebrown it may be more work than you care for, but I always take them apart and glue cork to the platters to make coasters. I also usually salvage the wicked strong magnets.

For the record, wasn't me. Was a remote office in Tx…sent back this server drive with 2x .45 slugs in it. Apparently Infosec said “make them unreadable" before sending them back to HQ…
@jessekelber @walter Sadly, I did not have a spare $35k lying around, so I was left with the hammer method.
@petebrown @walter Hey, as a former carpenter I strongly endorse the motto, “when in doubt, get a bigger hammer.” It works in oh so many situations.
