@PhoneBoy Links to any reply will show the full conversation. If you want all the replies as comments on WordPress, you can also install the Webmention plugin. (Did I misunderstand you? Not totally sure what you meant…)

@PhoneBoy Might also need to install the Symantic-Linkbacks plugin to get better display. @colinwalker's site is a good example of how this can look.
@PhoneBoy Yeah, I've been writing a book that will go into more of this. Also trying to extract parts of it to put on help.micro.blog.
@manton @PhoneBoy I’ve also heavily customised my comments.php and the custom callback used by the theme. There’s an old plugin to whitelist comments that should still work.
@PhoneBoy So glad you are figuring this out. I agree that the WP plugins are still far from usable by people who don't want to fiddle, but they are being worked on. Your feedback could help.
@PhoneBoy @manton You could also add this code snippet to functions.php to auto-approve most webmentions.
@PhoneBoy Must admit I’ve not used that plugin - presumed it worked the same as the blacklist so you could use an IP address. The code is reliable though, likely the only ones you’ll have to approve are those with a lot of links.
@PhoneBoy At the bottom is fine. Did you switch themes after adding it? If so, did you re-add it to the one in the new theme?
@PhoneBoy Strange, it’s normally reliable. I wonder if there’s anything else in your Discussion settings that might be catching them.
@PhoneBoy I guess.
@PhoneBoy I was thinking about the normal WordPress options under settings > discussion rather than anything Indieweb related.
