The Touch Bar is basically unusable in any sort of sunlight. I’m sorry to be so bitchy about it, but this MacBook Pro is the first Mac (and I’ve had many) that I actively dislike. Using it annoys me. Nice screen, though.

@jack just as a contrast, I’m pretty happy with mine. Works well both at work and otherwise. My favorite machine all time? Nope, but I’m satisfied.

@jemostrom I hear such tales often :) I would much rather feel the way you do.

@jack It's one weird generation of MacBooks

@hjertnes @jack Exactly. Not just Pros, it’s the whole lineup of MacBooks. I was in the market for a new one but could point to no one that was good overall. Air’s too old, Plain MacBook is too limited. Pros have terrible keyboards.

@amit The MacBook has the same crappy keyboard. And it's not about me not liking it - I don't . But it is unreliable. That's the problem

@amit @hjertnes I thought I'd get used to it. It's a lovely bit of hardware overall. What I want is an Air with updated internals. 11-inch, old keyboard. "normal" USB. I'd even live without Retina. The 11" Air was my favorite Mac and I miss it.

@jack Absolutely. That’s exactly what I want - an Air with upgraded internals. Do not remove ports, or even change screen. I can live with those. I really doubt I will get what I want though.

Haven’t made any purchase yet, waiting for WWDC to check what Apple offers.

@hjertnes you mean keyboards right? Keys getting stuck is a real problem, one I have seen even on demo machines.

@amit Yes, the keyboard

@hjertnes I really hope Apple is working on some redesign for that keyboard. That quest for thinner is making them look for shorter travel for keyboards, which clearly isn’t working.

@amit of course they are :) I just hope I also get my SD hole back

@jack 🙂 But since I'm connecting it to 27" screen at work (using a dock) I usually use an older Logitech keyboard. And for some strange reason I like the iPad Pro keyboard better ... although it's a bit too small.
