Another bonus: a grocery store is a pretty quiet downstairs neighbor.

@jean downsizing is so appealing to me but my wife isn’t ready for another move yet. Portland has been on our list of possibilities (acceptable places - that we both agree upon - to live) for a while now.

@ptrck I never forget the advantages of being single. There are lots of disadvantages, but the ability to decide on a Saturday to sell your house and sign a lease on that Wednesday for a new apartment is one advantage.

Staying put is good too. I lived in my house for 13 years, and in my previous condo for 11. Pretty good for a rootless cosmospolitan.
