I forgot about Caturday until the next day again πŸ™ˆ At any rate, here’s Gidget, incensed that the magpies are dropping by regularly again after a couple of months in which we hardly saw them. Don’t these magpies understand that this is CAT territory! 😀

Relative close-up of a tabby cat's face as she lies on a red blanket on a bed, looking leftwards with one ear very sharply positioned so as to hear all The same tabby cat on a different occasion, perched on her cat tower, looking left again with an expression of shock on her face

@jayeless I think the magpies only put on a show, so that Gidget will have something to be incensed about! Yesterday (caturday), I saw a magpie chasing after some great tits here. Luckily the great tits have been out a winter days before, so no steak for the magpie!

@odd It's true that the magpies are definitely not fans of Gidget either πŸ˜„ If they see her outside, they squawk very aggressively. I don't think Australian magpies attack other birds, but they definitely do eat meat. Lots of insects, and anything they can convince humans to part with πŸ˜†

@jayeless @odd The magpies round here (an import from Australia I believe) see off hawks and other birds to protect territory.

@Miraz Oh, for territory they quite possibly do! I was thinking about hunting for food πŸ˜…
