As you might remember, Gidget has been on a vet-ordered diet for the last 10 days. She is very unimpressed with it. Look at this face she gave me when I only topped up her water before going to bed last night, rather than giving her another serve of kibble 🙀

a tabby cat sits next to a stand with three bowls, two of which are empty (one has kibble dust) and the last of which is full of water. the tabby cat is staring at the photo-taker so intensely as if trying to exert mind control

@jayeless You are in trouble! How about splitting her dinner in two — part at the usual time and part before bed?

@Miraz Haha, I know! I have been trying to split her meals, but the more I split them up the faster she eats each serve and insistently demands more 😒 I think last night, I caved in and gave her her last serve for the night at 9:30pm, which clearly she'd finished by 11:30pm when I took the photo. She's really not used to not just always having food she can graze at when she gets peckish 😔

@jayeless That sounds hard. My cats always had food on demand and didn't eat too much. A friend though tried that and her cat just scoffed the lot. That experiment came to a swift end. 😆

@Miraz Haha, it definitely works for some cats and not others. My childhood cats would've stuffed themselves to bursting point if they got food on demand 😆 Gidget was always pretty good at self-regulating her intake, but now she's an indoor cat I think she gets a lot less exercise, so her weight just gradually crept up 😔
