All the titans of industry Trump paraded at his press event today were white males. No community leaders. No people of color. Only one woman spoke. Trump doesn’t understand America.

@hooper maybe not but a substantial portion voted for him - and will again.

@hooper @johnphilpin yeah, he understands America well enough to get elected and then become everybody’s favorite conversation topic, and likely 2-termer.

It has seemed, for quite some time, that it is rather his opponents who do not understand him.

@jamesdasher Trump got about 27% of the eligible voters. Clinton had millions more votes. Trump may will get elected again but it won’t be because of his sophisticated understand of the country he “leads.”

@hooper your disdain for the person is understandable, but the data don’t support your analysis. Clinton had a SMALLER vote majority nationally than her margin of victory in California. In other words, she lost the popular vote without California. Trump was more popular almost everywhere else.

@hooper no? Your initial comment read as if you harbored some for DJT. What do you admire about him?

@hooper well, he’s way better than his opponents at our reality TV culture. Incredibly cunning, and ruthlessly unsympathetic. But is recognizing that the same as admiring it?
