I’m really tempted to move my blog away from WordPress, custom theming it is such a pain and I can never find an off the shelf one that does what I want. I wouldn’t know what to use instead though, nothing is quite as connected as WordPress is.

@philbowell I'm with you, and have done it a number of times. It ends up that I've traded one set of problems for another and I always fall back to WordPress.

@jack yeah, I can see that happening as well. I design websites around Perch for clients, I’d love to use it for a blog but posting micro posts from my iPhone would be a nightmare.

@jack have you given Jekyl a whirl?

@philbowell Yes, I used Jekyll via Octopress for a while. Then it was Hugo, which I prefer. If I wrote, proofread, and published longer, mostly text articles I'd stick with it. For short, typo-ridden stuff like mine WordPress works better for now.

@philbowell have you looked at Ghost? I’ve not used it but heard positive noises? Though at the moment I’d just say get another hosted Micro.blog 😊

@adamprocter nope, I’ve looked at it in the past but not recently. I’m too much of a designer for a m.b hosted blog. The default theme I’m using on WordPress has tweaks I’ve made in it. I just hate doing WP themes.
