@cdevroe Now that I'm thinking about it, it is likely more than 15 years. I knew of Flickr when it was still called Game Neverending.
@cdevroe I've been there for as long as I can remember. Even deleted an account, opened again, but don't remember the Game Neverending phase…
@maique I believe they built a game with a social chat/photo sharing feature and they spun that feature out to create Flickr. For a very long time all of the URLs ended in .gne
@cdevroe I decided at some point that I'm going to trust Flickr with my photos "forever". If it turns out to have been a mistake, so be it. It's done well for me for 17 years and counting, so it's already ahead of everyone else, including all the attempts at "future-proof" self-hosting :)
@jack i don't envy their challenge, but I do believe it is in good hands. I just hope they continue to get enough support. I'm Pro. And plan on continuing - even though I don't store much there.
