Now that all the posts have been imported into Micro.blog, working on cleaning up categories and titles.
@joshsullivan I've been thinking about taking it even further and moving all my Blot posts (recent ones anyway) into Micro.blog and using micro.blog for everything, large and small. Well, everything not about photography, which will probably remain at copingmechanism.com. Am I crazy? I love Blot but I'm almost always right here anyway.
@joshsullivan Also MarsEdit! :). If you have any tips or tricks for the migration process, I'm all ears!
@jack I’d recommend waiting until after Manton fixes the issue with importing files with blank title frontmatter fields. He said this week he hopes to have a fix in place. I ended up using NotePad++ to combine all files, Mark lines starting with title: and nothing after it (regex), strip the marked lines out, then break the posts into separate files again. Although someone might have a better way of doing that, I recommend waiting for the title issue to be fixed.
@joshsullivan Good to know, thanks. If I move on this, I'll just start posting here and catch up moving the old stuff later as time allows.
@joshsullivan @jack I usually don't know when I start posting whether am writing a micro or a long post. So I need a place that works well with both the types of post. Another reason why Ghost doesn't work well for me.
Regarding migration, a hop via WordPress should work well too. Blot has way to move posts to WordPress. And then export from there 😬
