@manton One thing I've come to appreciate, as a user, is how much easier it is for developers to release updates outside of an App Store. And that isn't even for any sort of intense software tool at this point; I can only imagine how unappealing such a roadblock would be for high-end professionals.
@issimonwoods Yeah, it's really a big deal to update an app without approval. For example, I put out a quick beta of the Mac app a little while ago so others could try it.
@manton @issimonwoods Steve Jobs already said that web apps are the sweet solution. It only took a little longer than native apps, which nowadays are more often than not wrappers around a web app anyway, requiring an Internet connection.
