@jean You may already know this, but just in case… We’ve had really good luck here with the CDC’s VAMS website. Once you put your information in, it might take 3 to 5 days to get a registration link but then that opens up to let you schedule an appointment. It saves you from having to look up individual vaccine providers.
@gpittman Thanks for the tip. I only see an option to take me to my state’s (Oregon) health authority page, where I’m already registered as an eligible recipient. Am I missing something? (I’ve never felt so clueless about a process in my life.)
@jean I'm honestly not sure. I did some searching and it looks like maybe Oregon isn't using the CDC system, so I apologize for sending you on a fruitless expedition. That is extremely frustrating. We don't do a lot of things right in SC, so I'm not sure how we've been doing so well with the vaccination, especially with our governor's attempt to politicize the process.
@gpittman No worries. I’m willing to check out any possibility.
Oregon, of which I’m usually proud, has me shaking my head a lot this past year. 😑
@jean Here in NY state, we had the best success with the web sites of pharmacies that were offering the vaccine. Our county health department was good about posting which pharmacies (as well as their own locations) were offering appointments.
@jean I sent a message to my GP by way of their online My Chart app and asked her where I could get the shot. She sent me a number to call. I called it, told them I had a smartphone but didn't know how to use one (old) was put on hold for five mins and then a woman picked up and gave me an appt for a few days later. Easy.
