Subscription Fatigue: Every damn software program, app, service, newsletter, news site and streaming thingy, wants a monthly subscription instead of one time payment. Sorry but there are limits and I think users are hitting those limits. I am.

@bradenslen It’s almost like these things don’t provide the value of the monthly fee they want to charge? I know for me, there aren’t any podcasts or newsletters I could see paying $5-$8/m for.

@timapple On streaming services, there were only a few when we started out but then everyone started a streaming service and the existing content got all shuffled around and split up to where you now need to subscribe to 6 services where before there were just 2. I'd rather just buy the DVD's.

@mcg Newsletters used to be a way to promote yourself and pick up clients or drive traffic to your websites but now everything has to be monitized.

@fgtech It wouldn't be so bad if it where just services like Micro.blog or cell service. Micro.blog is worth every penny and we expect to pay for things like hosting. But now my TV demands 6 different subscriptions. My car has gotten in on the act. Phone apps, online news, VPN, subscription search engines, and a couple of charities etc. and pretty soon my credit cards are doing some serious bleading and I've completely lost track of who I'm paying monthly for what and why.

Thanks I feel better now.
