I generally use GoodReads for tracking books, but is there a better, Micro.blog friendly option I should consider using? I’m certainly not tied to GoodReads, I just wasn’t aware of alternatives.

@SteveSawczyn I’m not personally familiar with it (not a book tracker, per se), but the micro.blog Help pages reference IndieBookClub which may fit what you’re asking about. Hopefully someone else has personal experience with it.

@dgreene196 I just linked my Micro.Blog to IndieBookClub and will be adding my 2020 TBR List to it.

@SteveSawczyn I would also like to know this. I'm not a fan of giving my data to Amazon. Maybe @macgenie knows something?

@fabio One service that @dgreene196 pointed out to me is Indie Book Club: I haven't had a chance to check it out yet, but it might just be the thing.

@SteveSawczyn I use Goodreads & IndieBookClub (IBC). IBC is good for creating a permanent record on my blog of books that I’ve read, but not much else. I like how Goodreads has the reading challenge and Year in Books feature.

@SteveSawczyn I checked it out, but it's quite simple, it just posts the details of books to our blogs, which doesn't take much effort to do manually. Also, on click it links to Amazon's shop…

@fabio I was also going to suggest IndieBookClub. But I know it doesn’t compare to GoodReads. I wish there was a true alternative.

@fabio Ah that is disappointing, I thought they somehow directed traffic to local book sellers.

@chet I do like the GoodReads challenges and recommendations from friends have come in handy when I'm looking for something to read.
