Many folks share screenshots of their phone home screens. These are often intriguing to look at, but what I'm really interested in knowing is what you set as your browser homepage? Here's mine!

@eli not really, why? I open a new tab when I need something, and search. The “homepage” is there for less than a second. Why bother with it?
@oyam I don't think home pages are necessary, I just was interested in if anyone else on m.b has put together a custom one.
@eli This is neat. I can get something similar, ah.. you keep introducing me to new stuff that I can, have to, work on :P
@eli yeah, haha, it was just my reaction to the blank canvas that begs to be filled. I like the minimalistic feel of the blank canvas, and it gives nothing to distract my brain from the task I came there to do.
@eli For irrational historical reasons, new tabs are blank, but new windows use the local (and not quite identical) version of my actual fake[1] homepage. It’s just comforting sometimes to see something familiar.
[1] I still consider this to be my actual homepage.
@eli that is very nice, going to look at that web pack. I mainly use Firefox’s topsites and recommended by pocket page now. I remember when I use to love dashboard netvibes though. 😂
@smokey that is also a really interesting point -- the root of a domain vs. the "front" of a domain. For a while I kept my blog away from the root of my domain name, but I never knew what too put at the root of my domain name, so eventually I just moved my blog there.
@cm I adore most of the stuff that feint.me makes -- saved.io has what I beleive to be one of the best interaction models for saving content of all time on the internet.
@eli @smokey I always believed my homepage should just be my blog list in reverse chronological order. Not just titles, full content. Then I shifted to having one, my current one, where I just had a random selection of posts. My thinking was people rarely reach homepage for list, may be I should control what I serve them.
@vasta thanks! I've had a version of it for a number of years now. I haven't saved all the iterations, but sometimes wish I had.
@eli Looks great! I've been using this on Firefox lately: addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir... #NoComment
