Using a tiling window manager with no real desktop environment seems like Linux at its most weird and fascinating and it’s why I’m here. What a blast.
@eli This whole thing may turn out to have been a terrible mistake but I'm having so much fun I don't care. I alternate between saying "That's so cool!" and wanting to throw the whole thing out the window.
@jack A very familiar feeling! Using a tiling WM has given me a better understanding of how my system works (case in point - the status bar is fed by scripts running at intervals to get system status). Now that I am past the frustration phase there is no going back.
