Whomever decided to market glass topped stoves as "easy to clean" either had never used one for any length of time or had a cruel sense of humor.

@eli My wife and I had this discussion a few weeks ago as I was using a razor blade to scrape burned-on gunk off of ours. If I’m being honest, while it’s a pain in the ass to clean, I’m at least able to do it regularly, and nothing gets down under the burners.

@petebrown as far as electric cooking goes I think it is the best option out there, for sure ⚡️ 🥘

@eli yeah, I had one for several years, and found it very hard to clean. I now have a gas stove, which seems much easier, if only because it’s dark, so things don’t show up as easily.

@eli If I could choose only one household appliance to drop off a steep mountainside, it would be the glass-topped stove that came with our house.
