@dancohen I love web mentions! I've built them into my blog (super easy to do), and with a few services can even get replies from Twitter included. It's a fabulous thing.

@rosemaryorchard @dancohen Yep, they're brilliant and it's credit to @manton that he built support into micro.blog from the very beginning. Can't see the big silos ever including native support, unfortunately, rather the opposite with restricting their APIs so tools like Bridgy won't work. But the open web is the true network, we just need someone like Automattic to take the lead and build webmentions into a major platform.

@rosemaryorchard Yes, I’m sorry I’m only encountering webmentions now, as I’ve explored going indie with my social media. It’s a brillliant concept.

@colinwalker Agree. Need some biggish platform to adopt webmentions, but it’s not going to be Twitter.
