Initially, our local home improvement store struck me as the anti-library, with products arranged in loose groupings only experts could fathom. Then I got the app! Over-reliance on a catalog for findability is an example of exclusive design.

@cygnoir It’s the same with our local HI store, Biltema.

@cygnoir I order almost everything for curbside pickup now, including this kind of stuff, and I wonder if I'll ever do anything without an app to tell me what aisle to go to once I'm going in stores more often again.

@odd Do you find it as frustrating as I do? Or maybe you've gotten good at figuring out where things are!

@KimberlyHirsh It's remarkable to me how unknowable stores are these days. One of those things that makes me feel like An Old.

@cygnoir I find most stores to be a frustrating experience to navigate, except the ones you know well or very small ones

@cygnoir It seems like they are changing things around as they see fit. To their defense, they do have a couple of terminals that you can look things up on. But if you’ve got many things on your list…🤷‍♂️
