@manton Recently you mentioned that PNGs don't get resized, so I switched from JPG to PNG for my posts...and now my cross-posts on Facebook don't show the image in the share attachment. I checked and the og:image tag has the correct url. I can't think of anything else on the micro.blog side that could be wrong. Is it possible Fb just doesn't properly support PNGs?

@manton Ah, they only accept images up to 8MB.

@cliffordbeshers I wasn't aware of that 8 MB limit. That is something we can warn about. However, I don't recommend PNG for photos anyway. Micro.blog assumes photos are usually JPEGs and PNGs are probably going to be pretty big in some cases. If the 1800x1800 resizing isn't big enough, we can change it or add a setting.

@manton Footnote: I had set the PNG bit-depth to 16, which now seems imprudent. I converted to 8-bit png and everything works, as the images are now under 8MB. Other than size, is there a problem with PNG?

@cliffordbeshers Mostly size and so loading time is affected too. There are some features in Micro.blog that assume photos = JPEGs, but that can be customized if it gets in the way, like the photos page with plug-ins.
