Inspired by @arush’s trip through the Sue Grafton alphabet, I started the series again via audiobook. It’s almost 30 years since I read A-J, so I’ve forgotten “whodunit.” I’m reminded why I loved Kinsey Milhone. A calming listen, despite the murders! Next: D is for Deadbeat.

@jean Odd coincidence, I stopped at J as well. I remember feeling things had plateaued.

What I remember is the little black dress, always rumpled up in the trunk, a token of entry pulled out to enter a different part of society.

And the dumpster scene. My ears still ring.

@cliffordbeshers I continued with the whole series, but read the first 10 in quick succession because they were the ones already out. Then I had to wait a year for each new letter. There was a quality inconsistency for sure, but I still enjoyed Kinsey, her VW Beetle, her many glasses of Chablis, and her tiny studio apartment, all things that eventually became trademarks of mine when I was younger.

@jean I think I got B for Christmas, so I was on the annual ride for some years. Her character was revolutionary and so much fun.
