I wish there was a reliable macOS app for transferring my photos from my Pixel 2 XL directly into Photos on Mac. Believe it of not, neither Photos by Apple or Android File Transfer by Google are reliable.
@cdevroe I haven't tried, but if you activate Photos in Drive you could sync that folder to the Mac with the Google Drive/Backup sync thingy. I especially had to deactivate syncing my images to the computer.
@svenseebeck I gave up on that (see my blog). I no longer sync to any cloud services but manage my own library and backups.
