I’m realizing that I enjoy most movies. It is only after I read or watch reviews of people picking apart someone else’s hard work that I begin to see the “flaws” they point out. I’m going to cut down on consuming reviews. It will help me be more positive.

@mikehaynes I'm starting to think that - for media or entertainment - my own opinion is the most important to me. I find I'm fairly easily entertained. That isn't to say I don't appreciate braking things down or finding easter eggs. But, not bashing.

@cdevroe definitely, I have found for a long time that I often don’t agree with the “common” reviews of movies. I have different things I appreciate about them. I tend to ignore reviews except when a movie leaves me confused in some way. Then I’ll look for some explanations or interpretations.

@EddieHinkle @mikehaynes The worst is when I see a movie’s score online before I watch it. It sets my expectation; good or bad, and that is unfortunate. I think I'm going to attempt to shield myself from these things going forward.

@EddieHinkle @mikehaynes But I'm going to try not to be dogmatic about it. If a friend wants to tell me how much they loved a movie I'll gladly hear them out.
