@jennifermjones Hello Jen, and welcome! We put together a special page with tips for using Micro.blog and what makes it different from other blogging and social media services. welcome.micro.blog

Feel free to ask questions: @help or help@micro.blog which will bring answers from my colleague @manton, the brains behind Micro.blog.

I see you've posted dog photos and a microcast, two types of posts we dearly love here.

@macgenie Thank you for this - was testing last night and now getting a better feel of the place and what apps I need on my phone/laptop - look forward to learning more about this community and finally getting back to blogging regularly :)

@jennifermjones It’s generally a lovely community here. I’m very deeply and very profoundly burnt out on Twitter, and if it wasn’t critical to my work, I’d have quit it for good.

But I come here for pleasure. And it’s been too long since I did that on social media.

@jennifermjones I love your accent. Given your history in academia and social media research you might be interested to connect with @martinfeld who is currently researching along a similar thread.

Thank you for the introduction, @canion! It’s nice to meet you, @jennifermjones, and I look forward to catching more of your posts here on Micro.blog. (You’ve chosen a nice place to re-engage with the Web; I love it here.) A cool start with the microcast and I agree with Andrew that your accent is great.

@adders Oh! I hear you so hard on this. I have been through so many ways to make it fit for me, I feel like it is the digital equivalent of consuming junk food and hard liquor for days on end and then dealing with the consequences in my productivity. I delete my tweets. Cut back to lists. Delete the account at the weekend. Lock it. Unlock it. But like you, I do need it for work (which is fine, it is the pleasure thing I am missing) - but it hasn't inspired me to share or post like I would like in a long long time - I feel like it is a place for being tripped up or logging on for an argument.

Also, I notice how this place doesn't have likes and retweets, never thought that something so seemingly innocuous would cause so much trouble and influence.
