Any Flickr users know of an iOS app that allow the embed code for photos to be copied? I’d like to be able to do this for blog posts.

@BestofTimes did you ever find a way to get a Flickr embed link?

@canion @BestofTimes This conversation feels so familiar.

@jack @johnjohnston Does this embed code/link question ring a bell to either of you?

@canion @BestofTimes P.S. There’s a Micro.blog @ Flickr~ group on Flickr if you want to join.

@smokey I remember getting a bookmarklet to grab a link. Is that what you are thinking of?

@canion Maybe? I’m thinking Jack or John was working on something, which could have been that?

@smokey @canion I made a quick bookmarklet to get the Flickr image URLs but not embeds. There is flickr cc attribution bookmarklet maker which is more useful for photos labels for reuse ( I contributed the ‘stamper’ module).

@smokey @BestofTimes I seem to remember asking about it but never found anything beyond the utility @johnjohnston mentioned, sorry. I almost never post from iOS but if I run into anything I'll let you know. Currently I can "Copy URL" from the Flickr app share sheet and paste into Ghost and Ghost automatically embeds the image.

@jack @smokey @BestofTimes @johnjohnston Would a Siri Shortcut be sufficient? If the Flickr share sheet supports copying a link, I would think it possible to move it to an app for composition. I'm no shortcuts expert, but I might play around.

@canion @smokey @BestofTimes @jack reminds me pasting the link into WordPress embeds too. The short flic.kr also do the trick.

@canion The actual embed code (on the web on the desktop, click share arrow below photo, then Embed tab) appears to follow an very regular pattern, with the exception of a (for lack of a better term) hash component in the filename that changes with each image size, uniquely for each image, which takes things from easy to hard.

TBH, I didn’t even realize they had an app…in that case, it sure seems odd for it not to support getting the embed code!
