I’m seeing more Mac minis in desk setup photos lately. Makes me wonder if Apple will update that to their new chips tomorrow as well.

@cdevroe Maybe the ones you are seeing at the developer kits from WWDC?

@zorn Perhaps, two that come to mind are from @burk and @bsag.

@cdevroe @zorn I got mine because I wanted to have an external monitor at home to use with my MB Air when working from home (this is pre-COVID, and boy do I thank past me for her decisions in this case!). I don’t have space for an iMac and an external screen (plus that felt like duplication) so mini was a good option.

@cdevroe @zorn At the time, if Apple had made an iMac that allowed you to use it as an external display for a MacBook, I probably would have got that, but I do like the flexibility of the mini. I still think that’s a gap in the market, particularly for people WFH, i.e. many is us right now.

@cdevroe @burk @bsag I wanted the ability to use eGPUs and Ultrawide monitors. Plus the mini is just so verstile!

@Burk @bsag If I weren't so tied to laptops, I think I'd want a suped up mini.

@cdevroe they should develop a Sidecar style feature so you can use your iPad as a screen for it.
