@brucegodin No plans for now. I'd like to avoid storing private messages because of the extra privacy and security concerns, but we could look at other options for letting someone contact another person.
@manton @brucegodin In contrast, I’d like to say that I have no interest whatsoever in direct messaging on micro.blog. I can see how that’s of value to a silo like Facebook or Twitter trying to keep people locked in but I feel it would be out of place here. Open DM = e-mail.
@manton Totally understandable. Mainly asking because as a huge introvert and private person I honestly want all my posts to have replies/comments turned off and @ messages to be private and just between me and whomever I am messaging. Not public and open.
I love Twitter’s new feature letting you turn off replies to tweets.
I know it likely goes against Microblog’s ethos and community focus but I am honestly not really here for or interested in conversation/debate much. I am likely in the minority. I am mainly using Microblog as a blog host and to message a few people occasionally
@brucegodin Aha. That’s a use case I hadn’t considered. Thanks for explaining and sorry if I was butting in.
@brucegodin I believe you can disconnect your MB hosted blog from showing up in the social feed here, if you don’t want comments.
@manton I had the same concern with Pine.blog. I opted for piggy-backing on Email for now. Perhaps a domain email address with a rel=contact on blog pages?
