@brandontreb I just give them a wide birth. The fear just takes the enjoyment out of movie watching for me.
@brandontreb Iāve been mostly a chicken when it comes to movies. I had a boyfriend who challenged me to watch the scariest movie I could think of, and I picked āThe Birds.ā Iām glad I saw it, wonāt rewatch thought. š§
@crossingthethreshold haha I have never heard that turn of phrase. I like it.
Iām actually finding the fear / adrenaline to be a bit enjoyable. We have recently watched 4 horror/thriller movies and its been really fun.
@macgenie Iāve not seen that one. Will have check it out. We have traditionally steered clear of scary movies as well.
My wife and I were recently inspired by The Scaredy Cats Horror Show podcast from Gimlet. One of the hosts challengers the other to watch various horror films and they discuss. I highly recommend the podcast.
@macgenie The Birds is intense. Also havenāt been able to rewatch it 20 years later...
@brandontreb @macgenie I would like to recommend two older movies āThe Innocentsā from 1961 and āthe Hauntingā from 1963, there are newer versions but the older versions are much better. šāāļø I am a card carrying wuss also
@klandwehr addin them to the list. Thanks for the recommendation. The older horror films seem a bit less scary (probably due to lack of special effects), but I still feel like I get āscary movie creditā for watching them haha
@brandontreb yeah they are more psychologically triller, where the hair is standing up on the back of your neck thru the whole movie.
@klandwehr love it! I much prefer that style to jump scare after jump scare.
@brandontreb Maybe it is a British expression? I can use them at times without thinking, and then I see a polite āwhat did he just say, but Iāll laugh along with it anyway?ā look on others faces, and catch myself!
