@baldur Would be interesting to hear @kaa’s take on this. My own initial thought is that by defining all of micromobility as just scooters, he’s missing part of the picture and creating a false argument, but I don’t know much about micromobility….

@smokey Not an expert in this sector either but my guess would be that the analysis here is largely specific to the various VC-funded, unsustainable services popping up and not applicable people and communities owning and using their own scooters or electric bicycles?

@baldur @smokey I think he has missed the point entirely. Micromobility is not scooters alone, or the VC model. Rather it is a plethora of different vehicles and different funding methods. The way to make this commercially explosive hasn’t been invented yet (google ads were not invented at the same time as google search). As for operating in Paris, I imagine that’s because there are parked cars on either side? In Copenhagen bikes are everywhere, scooters get used (although not as often as I would imagine), but they run in the bike lanes.
