HTML is unpleasant to write.
I posted my first thoughts on the relative merits of writing HTML and Markdown a few months ago. Since then, the approach I’ve adopted has been to write a first draft in Markdown and, when I have a complete draft, convert the Markdown to HTML, using iA Writer. At this point, the HTML document becomes my source and I can forget about the Markdown. I make further edits to the HTML and eventually upload that to my site.
I haven’t as yet done anything exciting or complicated with the CSS, but all in good time.
