Fellow IT-people: when you are not a freelancer, do you take additional customers that will pay you money for your services or do you keep it at family support? I’m hesistant to do so because usually it is not “do it once” but usually they expect then support, if something breaks

@nielsk Family and close friends only, and even that I try to keep to a minimum :) At work I do occasional small jobs for some people, always for a bottle of wine or two, never for cash - like you I know it can turn into a neverending saga of support and be worth far more than in terms of my time than it's worth...

@nielsk many years ago I helped people with IT-stuff (no pay), I stopped ... it wasn’t “sustainable” (I didn’t like the feel of always “being on duty”)
