@TheDimPause do you like the book as well as you did as a child? As an adult, I reread one of my childhood's favorite books and it was ... disappointing is the best word, I guess. Other books have held up well, though (Where the Red Fern Grows comes to mind).

@kitt I’m afraid I haven’t read it for many, many years so I still just have the fond memories. Tempted now to get a copy to see how it holds up.

@TheDimPause after my disappointing reread, I tend to let childhood delights continue to delight me as memories instead of trying to recreate them. If you reread the book, I hope your experience is better than mine! :)
