@JohnPhilpin are you transcribing it yourself or using a tool ? Is the meeting a confidential one in nature ?
@Munish using a tool - but if I had a stenographer sit in with me the end result would be the same. Confidential .. yes, but the notes are just for me to make sure I haven’t missed anything and can easily cover off the actions.

I think my question is broader and akin to the thought that if you listen to a book read to you on audible - have you ‘read’ that book?
In this case - people talk about how you shouldn’t record meetings without their express permission. The actual definition of ‘recording’ does in fact include a ‘written’ record. So yes you shouldn’t transcribe without their permission - but if i take hand notes - and write down what was said in the moment - that is ok?
@JohnPhilpin I understand your perspective. In an interview setting, it’s generally about taking notes, whereas the recording scenario hinges more on permissions. The challenge arises with AI being used to modify and manipulate recordings, which complicates matters further.
