Question to the world. You are allowed to go to any place in the world, no restrictions for travel are in place and let’s pretend there is no Covid. Where do you go & why? ☀️

@Munish winter? some place warm with an ocean view. - I dislike winters 🙃 Summer? Finland by the lake - nothing beats sunsets at 11pm Spring/Autumn? New York/Shanghai - nothing beats a big city

@Munish My bucket list of travel locations is increasingly growing, but the top five in no particular order:

  • Iceland 🇮🇸
  • Ireland 🇮🇪
  • Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
  • Norway 🇳🇴
  • Switzerland 🇨🇭

@pimoore Those are my favorites too, only I’d exchange Norway for somewhere else. (Because I’m already here). Italy, Vietnam or China maybe.

@Munish I’m always challenged to choose new places versus places I’ve loved before. Current thought:

Norway - have been once, need to further explore the land of my grandparents. Portugal & Spain - new territory to me, the sights and food. France - Lyon and SE France, love France and this is new territory.

@Munish Because my month in Slovenia was cut short due to my knee accident in 2019, and my 2020 return attempt was quashed by COVID, Slovenia is still on my to-do list. But probably not until Summer 2022. Third time’s a charm? 🇸🇮

@jean We spent a couple of weeks in Slovenia 🇸🇮 about 20 years ago, oddly enough. Tiny, but with a bit of everything; it’s a great place 👍

@jean I went to Slovenia, just before it entered the EU. A beautiful place with many nice sites. Hotels were over priced and rental accommodation is what I imagined Russian blocks to be like. Lake Bled would have to be my favourite part of the trip. We found a Pizza place just on the edge which was amazing. Views of the church in the centre of then-lake. Excellent choice. 👌🏽

@Munish Yeah I should’ve just said England/Scotland/Ireland as one listing since I’d visit all three anyway. My ancestry is from Scotland and Ireland so I’m used to focusing on those two. 😉

@Munish Oh! So many places were already mentioned that I would love to know: Mauritius, Iceland, Scotland, Bhutan, Istanbul.

First pick for me would always be Príncipe, as we miss it so much after so long. But I guess were going to land on some Greek island(s), still picking from the catalog 🤣

@maique haha Greece would be amazing. Just get the island right and don't end up with teenage brits for neighbours

@Munish 🤞🏼 We're trying our best. First time we're using "family friendly" on the searches too, that should take care of some of those issues.

@Munish I had a fantastic time in Ljubljana before I had to leave early. I hadn’t done much exploring geographically or cuisine-wise because I was doing an intensive all-day class the first two weeks, and planned to practice my skills in the wild. Instead I spent 30 hours in a hospital in Trieste where I have very rudimentary language skills, though I did learn how to say “Please, crutches!” Which they had none. Then returned on the States for surgery. Long story.

@jean what skills were you-learning ? Maybe we can do a Micro.blog meet up there or day lol. Just need Slovenia government to fund it. A shame about you ending up in hospital.

@Munish I’d probably go to Europe and the UK. I’ve only ever been there for work and I’d like to go a little longer than just a week. I was meant to go there for a friend’s wedding last year, but... you know. Touring the US and Canada would also be nice.

@Munish It’s beautiful a country. Lovely, warm people. 70% of it is nature reserves by law. And it is probably the only place that would allow me, as an Indian citizen, to visit and stay without a visa.

@Munish Actually, there wouldn't be a difference. If not for Covid, there's my mental illness keeping me home. Haven't been on vacation for 45 years. I did some version of social distancing as well during those 45 years. I can do day trips, and long weekends, just. That's about it for me.
