@jayeless NZ would be similar, though in the last decade or two the Government has run various schemes for subsidising insulation and landlords now have strict rules about insulation and other factors. Disclaimer: we are a landlord but our rental house is only 7 years old and has all the stuff modern houses are supposed to have such as good insulation, heat pump, double glazing etc. That means I'm not sure what all the rules are.

@Miraz That's good that your property has all that! Australia theoretically has minimum standards for new builds, but (I'm guessing due to lobbying) they're very easily gameable. Double-glazed insulation is not at all standard here, even for new builds, from what I hear. Builders treat it like a special custom order and charge over $100,000 for a house's worth 🙁
