@bradenslen I watched the new Guy Ritchie movie last night - brilliant - and at the end was recommended the movie - so that us cued up - seen it before ... not better nor worse than Tge series - just different- like just take on Sherlock ... yes the series was my go to as a kid.

Sorry @bradenslen - should have had coffee before replying ... that’s a LOT of typos.

@JohnPhilpin As a kid I liked any kind of spy show. Secret Agent (aka Danger Man) was my favorite along with The Avengers (with Steed and Emma). But Man from UNCLE was right up there along with Mission Impossible.

@JohnPhilpin Absolutely. The Prisoner still blows my mind.

@bradenslen I wonder why in this world if remakes these shows have t been remade. I mean properly. Adding The Saint.

@JohnPhilpin I don't think you can beat the originals. The Brits might be able to remake some of the British shows but if Americans tried to do it, it would be a disaster. Imagine John Steed reimagined as a Rambo type character. Shudders With explosions everywhere. Even the Brits would be hard pressed: the British reserve of Steed, Peel or Drake is not what it used to be and that was part of what made these shows so compelling.

The Saint is interesting because it was a remake. Or at least a recycling of the character and they managed to pull it off, although I do like the old B-movie series as well.

@bradenslen I was talking about the original series - I didn’t like the film version with Val … get what you are saying about the remakes - BUT - doesn’t have to be the big shoot em up style …
