@JustGoodMusic My vinyl collection is on close to permanent loan to a long time friend in the UK. My CD collection is in storage (all 8 bankers boxes) ... while I do some juggling - and have to say at times - I am tempted to lose them since I do use Apple Music ... but I am with you. 100%
In fact even if you ‘BUY’ downloads form Apple - you still odnt own them - because when you pass those downloads can't be transferred to someone else - unlike an album or CD.

@JohnPhilpin I’m pretty sure there’s no drm on songs you buy thru iTunes these days. So your heirs shouldn’t have any trouble (assuming Apple hasn’t deprecated ACC files. 🙃)
@Bruce its not the DRM - there was something else going on around licensing and them acknowledging that the files could be moved. (This was as recently as 2017 in fact.) Maybe it has changed since then.
