@Cheri SoftBank keeps offering my brother who works in Tokyo a job. He’s currently working in a company that’s partly funded by SoftBank. I keep warning him to not make the switch. Something about that company makes me wary too.

@Cheri I enjoyed this!

@pratik Their bad track record aside, I can see the appeal of working for a big business fund. It would be interesting to work with so many different startups.

@Cheri I agree re WeWork - but don’t forget Uber … oh and DoorDash - remember how they FINALLY changed their tipping policy - after a ‘lifetime' of ripping off their 'dashers' - yup - another Softbank investment.

May they crash and burn forever.

@JohnPhilpin I’m always happy when a person or org changes for the better. “I’ll hate you no matter what” traps us all, I think.

Yet I agree it’s good not to be a chump. 🙂 And I don’t trust Doordash yet. They haven’t convinced me they’ve changed. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Maybe someday.

@Cheri do you trust Uber?

@JohnPhilpin Not yet. They’re still in my “use only if no alternatives are available” business category. But I hear their new CEO is a big improvement. And I have a relative who drives for them and who seems satisfied.

You?

@Cheri Well Travis set an extremely low bar - so Dara is definitely an improvement.

If your friend and driver is happy - all good.

I never use them. I do use Lyft and Ola if I can’t get a taxi - which is my first choice.

I have long watched Uber and have never liked the company or its tactics. Its business model is flawed. And the problems are deeper than a new CEO.

Been writing and flagging their inadequacies since 2015 - apparently ... I just checked. 😊

@Cheri Loved reading it. Inflated egos and corporate greed does ruin lot of good hardworking people’s business and livelihood.

@Cheri Hi Cheri. I use writer loosely. However, I have always wanted to try my hand on non-fiction writing. I just do not know where I should start. I suppose Micro.blog could be a better place to explore. Any suggestions for me? 👍🏽
