@Cheri FYI, @johnjohnston has a function in his collection of useful WordPress functions for Micro.blog that auto-approves all webmentions. I think @colinwalker had a variation that only did it for webmentions coming from Micro.blog, but I can’t find it ATM.

Also, your listing of summertime as one of your projects just reinforces why you are one of the most delightful people here on Micro.blog. “Rock on!” as they say :-)

@Cheri In doing some wiki link-checking, I also found a webmention-approval variation from @PhoneBoy that auto-approves webmentions from domains that have had a webmention previously approved (similar to that built-in option for regular comments): scroll down to “But Those Imported Comments are Moderated” header

@smokey Thanks! 🙂 I’ll have Patrick take a look at that code snippet for me. I have a Wordpress app on my phone so it hasn’t been too hard to approve webmentions as they come in, but auto-approval could come in handy for sure.

@Cheri Yeah, for low-volume sites, manual approval is not usually a problem, but it can be nice to have sometimes.

I used IndieWeb plugins and Bridgy to get webmentions working, and I had to turn off one of my more aggressive spam-blocking plugins to get them to work.

as you’d turned off comment moderation to get webmentions to show up :-P and the approval/unspam code would have helped with that problem ;-)
