I’m thinking of moving my contacts to Fastmail and using their CardDAV feature for sync. Does anyone have any experience *not* using iCloud for contacts syncing?

So you're happy with the contacts syncing? Does everything Just Work™? Any gotchas you didn't expect?
@mdrockwell I haven't seen anything weird so far. Not sure if there is anything "special" that iCloud contacts would do over this standard CardDAV setup. If there is, I haven't come across it yet.
@Burk great, that's good to hear! I just transitioned my wife to Fastmail for email and am thinking to move to them for contact syncing too — having shared contacts seems 👌
